Calling all Columbus and Weimar, Texas, citizens! It’s that time of year again — Gedenke! is back! As a sponsor of the event, Cavender Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM is excited to get this party started. Let’s take a quick look at what you and your whole fam have to look forward to.
So Much Going On
If you’ve attended Gedenke! before, then you know what to expect. But if not, you have a lot to look forward to. There will be games set up for kids to enjoy, and also carnival rides to add an exciting twist. Don’t worry, after a few hours at Gedenke!, your kids will fall right to sleep when it’s bedtime. Another fun activity that will take place over the weekend is the BBQ Cook-Off. A little friendly competition never hurt anybody, so if you think you have what it takes, register to show off your skills. Whether beef, pork, chicken, or beans are your forte, it’s time to show off your talent to the judges. And lastly, the final activity that everyone will love is the Car & Tractor show that takes place on Saturday. Feast your eyes on some of the shiniest vehicles you’ll ever see!
A Combination of Cultures
Gedenke! is known for tying together Texas and German traditions. Knowing that fact alone leads you to the assumption that the food would be off the charts, and that assumption is correct! You’re advised to come hungry because there will all kinds of foods to chow down on. You’re sure to get a lesson in culture when you try foods from different sides of the world. On top of the food vendors, there will also be vendors selling jellies, jams, and other goodies. You can take home a souvenir of the night with you.
